Cody and Sierra love singing for special occasions and holidays. As you can see they especially like to sing”Happy Birthday.”
We hope you enjoy our rendition. If someone in your family, or a friend, neighbor, etc. birthday is soon, please remember to send them our “Happy Birthday” video. You can't get anymore special or thoughtful than sending a video of singing dogs doing a great rendition of Happy Birthday.
I finished uploading and editing a version of “Auld Lang Syne” today which features just Singing Sierra. (You can hear Crooning Cody too a little in the video too, but you need to listen closely.)
Sierra not only sings in this video but she is singing lying down on her side. I would say it's a lazy version of “Auld Lang Syne!” Sierra likes to sing lying down a lot but this is one of the best videos we have of her singing lying down. It's great!
Compared to our original Auld Lang Syne Youtube video, which got us on Anderson, I think Sierra's singing has really developed and improved. She seems to be following notes more closely now and wants to follow along with the song and music. Cody does a better job now too, but still doesn't quite open up his mouth as much so his singing is more muffled. I guess Sierra needs to give him more singing lessons.
Auld Lang Syne is just the start of the all the holiday music and songs we will be releasing over the next couple weeks. We have many Christmas songs we are practicing and working on getting onto the camera. Sierra and Cody can sometimes be “Dog Divas” and won't sing when we get out the camera. I guess they are shy!
Remember you can also Suggest Holiday Songs or Christmas songs for Crooning Cody and Singing Sierra to sing. We can't accommodate all song requests but will do our best to try.
1-800-PetMeds is running their “Next Pet TV Star Contest” for choosing the next dog or cat (I assume) that will be featured in their newest TV commercial. On top of your pet being in a TV commercial you will win $1000 (seriously… I a company like 1-800-PetMeds could have sprang for a lot more money!) and be flown down for 3 days and 4 nights to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida for a tour of the 1-800-PetMeds headquarters with all expenses paid.
Since this sounds like a pretty awesome contest, I deiced to enter Cody and Sierra. Instead of trying to pose them in a cute or funny picture I looked through my massive library of dog pictures. I thought I would just use this picture we took of the wonderful handmade dog outfit's made by Ada Nieves. These outfits were given to my dogs as a gift from Anderson Cooper when we were on his show “Anderson” last year.
What I like best about the picture is it says something about the dog's experiences. It also shows the stark contrast between Cody and Sierra. Cody looks a little embarrassed to be wearing a dog tuxedo but Sierra was quite taken with the dress she had and was happy to be posing for the camera. She knows she is a photogenic dog!
Hopefully this photo will be our ticket for winning the Grand prize and be in the TV commercial, win the money, and the trip to Florida. Cody and Sierra deserve more TV time in my opinion. The first place winner recieves a lifetime supply of flea and tick medication and the second place winner will get to choose a petgear product.
If you are interested in entering the contest visit the 1-800-PetMeds Contest site to upload a picture of your pet. You can also use Twitter and Instragram to enter the contest simply by using the hashtag, #PetMedsTVstar, when uploading a picture.
The contest runs through November 14th 2012 to November 28th, 2012. The public voting period is between November 29th to December 14th, 2012
Just make sure to submit a good picture as it will be hard to beat Cody and Sierra in this pet contest! 🙂
The Holiday Season is right around the corner and this means different things for different people. For Crooning Cody, Singing Sierra and myself (aka The Singing Dogs) this means we are practicing hard on getting some holiday songs ready for the holiday season.
Instead of us dictating what our loyal fans and public want to hear and see on your Youtube channel, I thought I would ask all of you. I am sure lots of people have their own personal favorite holiday songs and tunes they want to hear sung by “The Singing Dogs.” If this is the case, please don't hesitate to let us know by leaving a comment below.
Please note Sierra is what I refer to as a “Dog Diva” since she only sings when she feels the urge and wants to. Sierra also doesn't always like it when we shoot her on camera, since we can't figure out her good side. Cody will sing by himself once in awhile, but not nearly as loudly when he has dog duets with Sierra.
Therefore it will be difficult for me to fulfill all song requests and we just can't do every holiday song. We are happy to accept requests for obscure songs, but please note if you can't provide a for us to hear the song or sheet music it will be difficult for us to cover the song. Cody, Sierra, and I would have to find the time to transcribe the song and then shoot a video for it, which is a time consuming process.
This is a cute picture of Cody and Sierra at Baltimore's famous Sherwood Gardens I thought I would share. As you can see Sierra likes to sit on the bench with me when walk over to Sherwood Gardens. I guess it shows she is the boss since she is above Cody. She definitely thinks she is a princess and should be treated as such. It's nice for the dogs to sit and watch people since they are herding dogs that are supposed to keep watch over things. I think the dogs need mental stimulation just as much as physical exercise.
Sierra actually escaped twice because she couldn't resist chasing a rabbit and squirrel. When she was chasing the rabbit, with me and Cody trying to catch her, she was skipping just like the rabbit. It was pretty funny to watch but nerve-wracking too I wasn't sure if she would go into the street. Sometimes she is a really bad girl, but she doesn't care! Cody tends to be more agreeable, at least most of the time.
