Bestfreinds Furever, a Doggie Daycare and Boarding Facility, is holding an open house tomorrow (Saturday) October 13th from from 12am – 6pm. Staff will be on hand to show people the Cockeysville facility if they are interested in utilizing their pet services. There will also be snacks, door prizes, a costume contest, and a face painter. (Not sure if the face painter is for humans or dogs, but I hope people aren't planning to face paint dogs!)
Sounds like the open house will be quite an experience and fun. If you can make tomorrow to checkout the facility, I would try to swing by. We currently use another facility to board Cody and Sierra but are considering using Bestfriends Furever in the future since taking with someone who works there.
The Baltimore Humane Society will be holding the dog extravaganza known as DogFest 2012 this Saturday, October 6th 2012. It will be a fun filled day of activities for both humans and pets and will help raise much needed funds for the Baltimore Humane Society.
Contests will be held for Best Trick, Best Costume, Best Dancer, or Best Owner/Pet Look-Alike. There will be a few celebrity judges from local TV and radio stations like WBAL-TV's Jennifer Franciotti, MIXX 106.5's Maria Dennis, WYPR's Sheila Kast, or MAGIC's 95.9 Lolo and even other celebrities are expected to come by.
Kids will enjoy the crafts section, Moonbounce, face painting by Fantasy Faces, and Shakespeare animal scenes acted by The Shakespeare Factory.
Let friends, family, and neighbors know about DogFest. You don't even need a dog to come by!
There is Free Parking on-site and remember to avoid traffic by checking the alternate driving routes on the DogFest website. To save time and standing in what will definitely be a long line, you can buy tickets online too.
The Maryland SPCA along with local Baltimore food trucks and Heavy Seas beers will be holding a fundraiser “Pyrates For Pups” tomorrow night, Friday September 21st, 2012 from 5-9pm. The fun event will be located at Swann Park in downtown Baltimore and will feature live music by Hanover Blue.
Admission to Pyrates For Pups is free but a percentage of the food and drink sales will be donated to the MD SPCA so they can continue to do great work for homeless animals in Baltimore. So be sure to go down and stuff your face with delicious food from Baltimore's best food trucks and great beet for Heavy Sees.
If you are looking to add to your loving family there will be adoptable dogs on site. The dogs will be dressed up like pirates, which should make you want to adopt them!
If you have a dog (or dogs) there will be an off-leash play area at the Downtown Dog Resort & Spa. So this will be a great happening event for area dog lovers who want to have some fun all while benefiting a good cause.
Parking will be available at the onsite parking lot and there should be some spaces around the neighborhood.
