With Cody and Sierra being somewhat well known dogs these days, I am always finding and connecting with new talented dogs on YouTube and around the internet. One such dog is a Havanese named Jasmine that is a pretty good personal (dog) assistant.
As you can see CJ, Jasmine's owner, has taught Jasmine quite an impressive arsenal of dog tricks. Jasmine's most useful dog trick, or helpful chore, is getting clothes out of the dryer. Don't you wish your dog could do that ?
Jasmine and CJ have made numerous TV appearances which include being on Good Morning America, and Animal Planet “Who Let The Dogs Out She was also featured on Anderson too, which is something my dogs know about!”
For even more dog tricks watch “Jasmine's Dog Trick Resume” below. Some of my favorite tricks Jasmine does are Push Shopping Cart, Play the Piano, Say Your Prayers, Take off Sock, and Ring the Bell.
Jasmine is the same breed (Havanese) as Wolfie Cody and Sierra's dog cousin. Of course Wolfie doesn't quite have as many dog tricks up his sleeve as Jasmine .
Cody and Sierra can't do these tricks but it would be awesome to teach them. Having helpful dogs around the house doing chores would be useful and fun. At least they are “singing dogs” and they are musically talented.

We got the new Eddie Bauer catalog this morning and I noticed something interesting on the cover and first page, an English Shepherd puppy. Take a look!
Not only I am fairly sure it is an English Shepherd but it looks lot like Cody did when he was a puppy. Sable coloring with a splash of white here and there including the “white socks” as we like to call them. While this Eddie Bauer catalog puppy is cute, we obviously think that Cody was a much cuter puppy. I guess Cody should have done some dog modeling! 🙂
UPDATE: The puppy featured in the Eddie Bauer catalog is NOT an English Shepherd. It is actually a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. A lot of people actually think Cody is a duck toller so it's not surprising I think they look like English Shepherds. Even Eddie Bauer got it wrong as this was in the catalog:
Darwin is a New Brunswick duck tolling retriever. He's enjoying a break in his training to become an avalanche rescue dog at the Crystal Mountain ski area near Seattle.
I noticed the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever community is a little upset since there is no such thing as “New Brunswick duck tolling retrievers.” I am sure there some duck tollers live in New Brunswick though.
Tennis Balls always seems to get lost and wear out quickly at the dog park and our backyard. We seem to be running to the store every other week to get a new set of tennis balls. The other day I was able to snag some Free Tennis Balls though. How and Where? Our local tennis courts!
I noticed our local tennis courts always have a lot tennis balls outside of the fence. Usually people knock a few out of the courts, it's inevitable. I assumed that most go get the tennis balls after they finishing playing. However, walking by the tennis courts with Cody and Sierra over and over, I realized this was a wrong assumption.
If a ball goes over the fence it seems most tennis players don't bother to pick-up the balls. It's too much hassle! This means my two English Shepherds very happy dogs.
As you can see we got quite a lot of tennis balls. I will keep walking by the courts once in awhile to see if there are more tennis balls.
Seems I have hit the jackpot and now have an endless supply of tennis balls. Just a good tip if your dog (or dogs) keep destroying or misplacing tennis balls.
The pool people decided the last day would be a “Dog Day.” They invited members to bring by their dog (or in our case dogs) for a swim. We took Cody and Sierra to the pool but they were not to keen on getting into the water. Sierra kept jumping on us nervously and Cody seemed a little nervous too. They saw the other dogs swimming and thought “Do we have to do that?” We didn't make them get into the water but did encourage them to try to get in to no avail.
As you can see other dogs were having a blast in the pool though. I hope they do the Dog Day at the pool again since it was a lot of fun bringing Cody and Sierra by even though they didn't go swimming. Hopefully they will do it again next year and let dogs stay in the pool a little longer.
It was sad to see the pool close! Don't you wish Summer could last forever?
We haven't made any videos in awhile, but this is a short and sweet video brought to you by Singing Dogs which should put a smile on peoples faces for Labor Day Weekend.
I love the playing the blues on my saxophone but not as much as Cody and Sierra like singing to the blues it seems! For some reason anytime I play these notes and this blues scale they both sing. I guess we will work on a song that we can all enjoy.
